So we were customers of "The Cleaning Authority" in Chandler, AZ. When we first signed up for their services, we were told they would be there every 3rd Friday between 8a-10a, and there would be a 3 or 4 crew rotation. Sounded good - price was a little steep, but we decided to give it a try.

(1) Every third Friday they would show up sometimes at 8am, sometimes at 10am, sometimes at 12 noon, sometimes they wouldn't show up till 2pm.

(2) We've been using this service for about 7 months, and NOT ONCE did we see the same person come into our home - but supposedly we were on a "3 or 4 crew rotation".

(3) One of the cleaners broke a $60 cooking dish in the kitchen but neglected to tell us. Worse yet - they left glass pieces on the floor when they left! Ultimately they replaced the dish - but the process was not easy.

(4) On 4 seperate occasions a crew would come and go, and the work was not complete. Floors weren't mopped, bathroom mirrors weren't cleaned, floors weren't vacuumed, shelves weren't dusted and if they were, they just dusted around what was there - they didn't move anything.

Most recently they sent out a crew of what their paperwork says was 3 people, but only 2 people were in our home. They both WREAKED of cigarettes, but that was beside the point. The paper they left said their area of focus was the master and the hall bathroom. When I got home, the floors weren't mopped, the mirrors weren't clean. there was dust and residue on the counter. In the master bedroom we have a low hanging ceiling fan. We always just leave it on. Well when I got home, it was turned off meaning ONE of them had to have turned it off. What I noticed was the thick layer of dust caked onto each fan blade.

I called them back to have them send someone back out as we were having a get together at our house that weekend, but no one answered nor did they return our message. This was the last straw. I have cancelled our service with them, and asked for a refund for a service we paid for but wasn't delivered, and was told their policy is to NOT refund a customer, but they will send someone back out there to reclean it. What's the point if I already did their job for them? Needless to say, I'm now going out of my way to let as many people as possible know to stay away from this company. It may seem like a good deal and reputable company up front, but I guarantee you you'll be in the same boat we were - which is looking for another service - one who puts time and effort into their work and takes pride of what they do.

STAY AWAY FROM THE CLEANING AUTHORITY OF CHANDLER ARIZONA!!!!

ive been with them aliitle while. They are continously rehiring people.

demanding job, long hours, act like they care about you when they dont, They need to change the way they train people. Its no wonder they have high turnover,If the company is so great they need to invest in a mock home and train them how its suppose to be done rather than watching videos and going out to clean

the first day. they need to put teams of three on big houses,They have no ideal what shape these houses are in when you go to clean and bathrooms are the worst. You are given a little over two hours to clen big houses with2 people and if they want the job done right they would maintain three people on a team,3 people most houses go down to an hour. they but you on standby and then send you home.

two faceback stabbing and rude staff.

again the turnover rate for this company probably surpasses fast food. the first couple weeks are good and then its all downhill.

Agreed!! I worked for them and that is exactly how they are, they are dishonest with the customers, use as little cleaning products as possible and ONLY care about how short of time the employees are in the home, not the quality of job done for the customer. Horrible company!!!!!

If you're thinking about working for this Cleaning Authority - DON'T!

MANY times their payroll checks would bounce and I would accrue large overdraft fees to my bank account.

The owner Ken was very belligerent and huffy when I demanded he pay my bank fees. My observation was most of the employees were foreign and didn't want to make waves.

To top it off, a customer accused me and my coworker of stealing a handgun, and we were called off a job back to the office and promptly put on suspension.

I know I was accused because Ken and his wife wanted to get rid of me for making them pay my bank overdraft fees and the handgun thing was a ruse! And I never got resolution from Cleaning Authority or the police on this matter after dozens of follow up calls from me.

Very unprofessional people, stay away.

I AGREE DO NOT USE THIS *** COMPANY! I used the Cleaning Authority in Glendale for the first time and needless to say the first impression WAS NOT GOOD!

I came home expecting my home to be clean, floors mopped, windows clean, ceiling fans dusted and it was not done and I am having to spend my weekend cleaning after these incompentent people! I have a home over 4,000 sq ft and they were in and out in less than 2 hours. I paid the company $130 and was going to pay this rate weekly but not now. I got the same story that "we will send someone out" but what is the point of having them come out if they didn't do the job right the first time!

The owners talk a good game when they come out to provide estimates BUT the service SUCKS!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY unless you want to waste your hard earned money! They won't clean but they will surely take your check/payment.

Thanks for the post. I too have been scammed by this sorry company. They are horrible!

I refer to them as "The Unfinished Cleaning Authority". I used the Chandler, AZ location and I have to agree with the original poster.

I used this service and was less then pleased more often then not. In addition, when I was sold the service it was explained to me that they were bonded and insured. When an item was broken and damage done to my home the only resolution from Patrick Orr was "free cleanings" to cover the cost of my now damaged art work. However the drywall damage was repaired I eventually had to file a claim with my personal Homeowers insurance to replace the artwork.

Needless to say, I chose NOT to cash in the the free cleanings in fear that they would probably just cost me more in the long-run. Avoid this service!

I've used The Cleaning Authority for over 2.5 years. When they first started I had to have them come back and redo their service a couple of times. The owner Ken and his wife were accommodating and never gave me a hard time about it. Our house is not a really dirty house but it does need to be kept up and sanitized. One of my concerns with Cleaning Authority is that they use "environmentally safe" cleaning products. I'm not sure this has been the best for my family. My family has been the sickest since I've started using them. In the future I will use a company that uses sanitizing chemicals. Someone mentioned that they are a "wipe down" service. My husband came home one day to see that they were only Swiffer mopping our floors with only water.

I have also had 4 items broken in my house. In each case Ken was more than happy to replace the items at full cost. However, I explained to him that sometimes these items can't be replaced and to tell his crew to be more careful. They still kept breaking things and then started lying about it and not reporting it.

I have had a diamond necklace missing the second year I used them but by the time I found out it was missing I had no proof that it was the cleaners. But now after reading some other reviews I'm sure it was them.

I would hire at your own risk! The cleaning is minimal, they are expensive, and they are not very careful with owners items.

chandlerMom2 -

Our composition of solutions always has - and always will - included a santizer, as well as the option for a mold remover and hardwater remover (pending customer approval as these are not Green Seal Certified agents). I'm very sorry to hear about your families perpetual illnesses, but I'm confident it isn't a result of our efforts.

Breakage is an unavoidable by-product of any service that deals predominately in human labor. This is the reason you go with a fully insured company. As you described, we take care of all breakage that is a result of our efforts. No one at our company receives disciplinary action due to breakage, and we operate this way so that it is reported.

Your understanding of the Franchise Agreement is inaccurate. We are all independently owned, but as Franchisees. For legal reasons I won't delve into the specifics of the agreement we hold with corporate, but it differs tremendously from the story you provided.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience, but that was not out of our office. We are located in Chandler, Arizona and service the East Valley.

The Cleaning Authority is really a scam. Folks do not really own their own company - they instead are owned BY the main company in Maryland.

Google them and you will find their franchise website. For 100K to 140K you too can have "your own business..." Folks who bought into this franchise scam are up to their eyeballs in debt. If they do not make a certain amount of money to pay corporate each month and to buy their cleaning supplies directly from them AND get their accounts; then they could lose their home and yes, even their 401K. Hence, YOUR things get broken in their haste to get enough accounts everyday to met the franchise financial demands.

I saw the franchise application. They ask for ALL your financial assets as leverage for the 100 to 140K start-up fees. For the past 13 years I have managed my own successful home cleaning business without the need of a money sucking franchise. My capital investment was $5.00 and honesty.

Seems I must be doing the right thing because I have been in business longer than The Cleaning Authority. :grin

Wish I would have found these posts prior to hiring the Cleaning Authority out of Glendale. Even though they are individually owned it seems that the common these in these complaints is that there is no accountability with the owners.

I started the service 2 months ago and both times I had to have them redo many items that were listed in the Initial A and Initial B cleans. They also broke one of my knobs on my stove. I contacted them both times, the second time I spoke to the owner (Scott) regarding my concerns and he mentioned that if I wasn't happy with the cleaning I should go someplace else. I couldn't believe his response!!

The quality of the work is really poor and the customer service is terrible. I plan on posting this information on other sites and spreading the word to family and friends so that others can learn from my experience!

Please do spread the word. The cleaning authority needs to be put out of business.

Ken Orr the owner is a liar and will promise things that will not be delivered in cleaning. We should all go into a class action law suit against the Cleaning Authority for being scammed!

People you will be so very sorry and disappointed when they don't perform as Ken Orr promised! Take your business else where...Where they will stand behind their 100 percent guarantee because THE CLEANING AUTHORITY IN CHANDLER WILL NOT!

Guest

@Susan - seriously? You're going to keep a urine soaked roll of toilet paper under your sink for over a month (as generally TCA cleans every 2 weeks) and then complain about cleaning quality?

I may have had my differences with the company as an employee but the cleaning standards were definitely over par. Each franchise is owned individually - which doesn't mean they are all the same or lack professionalism.

Again, that was not our office. I apologize that your experience with another Cleaning Authority was poor, but we are all independently owned and operated. Our office takes care of any and all damages resulting from our efforts.

I hired cleaning authority with them selling me on that they would do a great job and were responsible. I had them come twice.

The second time they came they damaged my wood floors. They sent back the cleaning crew to inspect the floor after I called to tell them there was damage. After that they never came out again. I had to call them and they just argued with me that they could not have done it, no one else bothered to look at the floor.

I just got arguments on how they couldn't be the ones responsible for damaging the floor. I fired them they still charged me and I had to pay for my wood floors to be fixed.
